Such a loaded question.
As Church planters, we've been given a lot of advice as to how to proceed, especially here, in our "values" section. And we tried. Justin and I tried, and our we were butting our heads on the wall. then we tried with our leadership team and 8 of us butted our heads on a wall. Not because we disagreed with each other - far from it actually.
I think, and I could be wrong here, we just want to be the people, and thus the Church, that Jesus has called us to be. We don't care about whatever the new and big leadership model is, whether it's at P&G or it's at the biggest mega church in the world. Not that those things are bad, it's just not us. We've broken every other Church planting rule, so I imagine one more won't matter all that much.
We do know that Jesus has called us to live out following him in the best way we can, everywhere we go. To be a force that counteracts the cultural image that people have about Jesus and his beloved Church. I imagine, and hope, that over time, we'll refine this page. That it'll constantly be growing and changing as we understand better the purposes that God has laid out for us. But we're not going to be tricked into following whatever trend happens to be passing through corporate America or Christendom that week. We're going to follow Jesus, to the best hat he enables us to do that.
